Piedra Amarilla
|
| |
Piedra Amarilla is a small yet beautiful community of 162 people tucked inside the mountain of Cerro Azul. The majority of its inhabitants are farmers who work in the mountain producing coffee, corn, beans, bananas, and sugar cane. The community currently does not have a water system and only six families have latrines. The community collects water from a mountain spring through rubber hoses but these are constantly breaking and are very unreliable. Peace Corps Volunteers have worked with the community in providing it with a topographic study and design for a water system. The community has been working hard for 5 years to find funding for their water project but so far have been unsuccessful. Hopefully, with your help we can help bring water to the people of Piedra Amarilla!!
