Yojoa International Medical Center, Hospital de Emergencias

In the Yojoa Lake region of central Honduras a project to provide American standard health care to the community is being developed. A group of national and international leaders have assembled creating three legal establishments dedicated to community social ethics.
· Inversiones Yojoa S.A. de C.V. (Yojoa Investments,
Anonymous Society of Variable Capital)
· Yojoa International Medical Center (YIMC)
· YIMC Foundation

The key to success rests in the interplay between the establishments and the community. Unlike setting up an online bingo account, this is a delicate and time-consuming process. Inversiones Yojoa is currently selling shares of the Hospital and business enterprise. Proceeds from the shares will be used directly to purchase 116 acres for the hospital and start a variety of small businesses using the land and available natural resources. The first businesses will be a Tilapia farm. Currently Honduras is the number one Tilapia exporter in the world and there is a strong Tilapia infrastructure enabling a quick process to profit sharing. The YIMC Foundation pools and manages these profits for further internal investments. The next phase of business ventures involve organic agriculture and livestock farms, production of purified water, and hydroelectric power to sustain the hospital and serve the community.

Profits from Inversiones Yojoa and YIMC are split between shareholders and the YIMC Foundation. The business ventures and foundation serve as a means of privately managing a pool of money used to pay for hospital services for those who cannot afford it. The system can operate privately because the majority of shareholders, 51 percent, will receive earnings. The remaining 49 percent of the shares are sold to investors who agree to forfeit their earnings into the YIMC Foundation. This monetary recycling process allows the private hospital to maintain the social ethic of public health and equality of access.
The 250 bed hospital, directly serving 300,000 people, will function according to American and International health standards with complete emergency and trauma care, operating with a blood bank, laboratory, infant and maternity ward, intensive care facility, surgery rooms and a radiology unit. Not only will the hospital provide complete technological service but also health education programs. Currently Northern Michigan University and the University of Michigan have research interests within the community and several students have completed internships and projects.

This project is coming to an exciting landmark. The land will be purchased on August 31st and the hospital design phase can continue. Initial earnings from the startup businesses will help to pay for complete land surveys. The estimated price of the hospital is 20 million USD, which will come from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Contact has been made with the IDB and once the land is purchased the loan process can be finalized.
Shares are now available for purchase both nationally and internationally. The YIMC Foundation will also accept direct donations through the protocols outlined in this website.
